Gabrielle Davis

Program Director

Gabrielle is a creative spirit from West Philly, whom strives to be the best version of herself! She currently works as a Disease Intervention Specialist and a Clinical Mental Health Counselor for the state of North Carolina. She is an alumnae to the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she flourished academically and socially.

​

She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, in which she continues to serve her community, encouraging scholarship and service, and embracing the value of sisterhood!

 

Gabrielle loves to be creative through music, event planning, and currently serving as our Program Director! She is hopeful that throughout the years, you all will cultivate your passions and dreams, and continue taking the steps towards your identified greatness!

Lisa Simpson

Board Member

Lisa has been in the banking and finance industry for more than 20 years gaining experience in Consumer Banking, Investment Services, Business Banking, Wealth Management, and Global Technology. As a seasoned professional, her career path includes retail bank leadership, portfolio management, wealth and affluent strategy, and global technology project/program management and governance. A graduate of Mercer University in Atlanta, GA, she earned her M.B.A. and is a Mercer Alumna.

Lisa enjoys spending time volunteering with youth girls aged 11-14 with “An Image of Me” nonprofit organization. She is a member of an incredible Sorority where she partners in community outreach by teaching financial literacy and supporting worthy humanitarian causes. She is also an entrepreneur having launched Hint&Simp365, LLC, an ecommerce business, with her business partner in 2021. Lisa is an empty nester seeing her two beautiful nieces, Eboni and Essie, off to college. She spends her downtime doing family travel, home décor, attending sporting events, hiking, apple picking, and many outside activities close to nature. You will even find her reading a paperback book. And if it is possible, she loves both the Panthers and the Falcons.

Lisa’s career journey has included being a collaborator and a contributor to the overall success of great teams and organizations. She finds the most fulfillment in God, family, friends, servant leadership, mentoring youth, and her church community. She has plans to visit each of the seven Continents of the World at least once through domestic and international travel.

Robin Strayhorn

Board Member

Robin Strayhorn is a solid HR professional bringing 25 years of experience in talent acquisition, employee relations and career readiness. Robin focuses on fostering collaborative relationships that are committed to building a strong employer brand and enhancing the candidate’s experience—from talent identification to employee onboarding to career navigation.

​

Robin is an alum of Howard University and is an active community advocate with a focus on economic mobility. Robin serves as a mentor and workshop facilitator with the Greater Steps Scholars and Goodwill Industries – Southern Piedmont.

​

As an early career development program manager at PNC Financial, Robin is a connector people and opportunities (especially those in low to moderate income economic brackets), by delivering engaging soft skills, interview preparedness and career readiness training—creating the “STAR” conversation. Robin has a passion for talent in the early career space and partners with several North Carolina universities through classroom interactions and career services resource centers —resulting in successful early career level placements post-graduation.

Tuere Duton-Forbes

Academic Advisor

Tuere Dunton-Forbes is a Charlotte‑based wellness advocate, district‑level school counseling leader, and founder of Empowher‑2‑F.I.T., LLC. With a B.A. in Psychology from Alabama A&M University and a M.Ed. in School Counseling from Florida A&M University, she has spent nearly two decades championing the academic, social, and emotional well‑being of students in one of North Carolina’s largest school districts.

​

Her passion for holistic wellness was shaped by personal loss and her own health journey, inspiring her to become a certified Health Coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute. Through Empowher‑2‑F.I.T., she empowers women—especially working mothers and wives—to overcome barriers, reclaim balance, and pursue wellness with intention.

​

As an author, educator, and community connector, Tuere brings a powerful blend of professional expertise and lived experience to her work. She is committed to helping girls and women build confidence, self‑esteem, and a strong sense of purpose—one intentional commitment at a time.

LaTania Williams-McAdoo
Counselor

LaTania Williams McAdoo, affectionately known as Tonya, is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, North Carolina. She obtained her Master’s in Marital & Family Therapy from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

 

LaTania is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in North Carolina, a Certified Gottman Couples Therapist, and an Infidelity Recovery Coach. She is also a 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work leader. She facilitates corporate training, mental health education seminars, and couples’ workshops, and is preparing to launch retreats designed to help couples reconnect, heal, and thrive. LaTania has worked in the mental health profession for approximately 15 years in various settings. She owns and works in private practice at Hopeful Expectations Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. She specializes in couples therapy and infidelity recovery, while also providing individual counseling for clients facing relationship challenges or working through the grief and adjustment that comes with the end of a relationship.

 

LaTania is passionate about working with couples, recognizing that marriage and committed relationships, while deeply rewarding, also come with unique challenges. She firmly believes that with intentional effort and the right tools, couples can build lasting, fulfilling partnerships. Guided by this conviction, LaTania’s vision is to travel the world empowering couples to Master the art of Matrimony and experience the joy of a thriving connected relationship.

 

In her spare time, LaTania enjoys quality time with her husband, family, and good friends. She enjoys reading, traveling, meeting new people, and learning new ways to serve her clients.  

 

LaTania volunteers her time with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a mentor to her Little Sister, leads Seasons of Her Soul Women's bible study through her church. She serves as a dedicated volunteer with the Deltas of Charlotte Foundation, An Image of Me and the YMCA.

​Mary Sutton
Counselor

Mary “Maracle” Sutton is a licensed ordained minister and clinical social worker. With over 25 years of experience, Maracle’s passion to help others is just as strong today as it was when she first started her career. Her work has allowed her to work in many spaces  to include child welfare, housing instability, disability, life coaching, and policy advocacy. 

 

Currently, Maracle devotes her time to helping others, both as a minister of the Gospel and as a licensed therapist. Her motto is if you heal an individual, you heal a community. Maracle is joining our Image of Me community to provide counseling support to young ladies and their immediate families. Her specialties include anger, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and individual and family relationships. She will provide two free 45 minute interventions per individual or family with the option of seeking her services ongoing thereafter. Maracle accepts most insurances and will walk along side you in your healing journey.
